On average, the drive to Bacalar takes about 3 hours each way.

Is the use of sunblock allowed while swimming in the lagoon?

We encourage tourists to protect the delicate marine life in the lagoon by avoiding the use of sunblock while swimming.

Instead, we recommend wearing long sleeves or protective clothing to safeguard your skin from the sun's rays.
