Biodegradable sunscreen is required at all three cenotes; standard chemical sunscreen is prohibited to protect the water quality. Bring a swimsuit and towel, light clothing, and comfortable walking shoes for Valladolid, sunglasses, and a hat. A small amount of cash is useful if you plan to buy souvenirs in Valladolid. Leave the heavy backpack behind; drinks, snacks, life jackets, and lunch are all provided.

Pickup from Mérida begins around 7 AM, adjusted slightly by your location within the city. The drive to the first cenote takes approximately 2 hours on the toll highway toward Valladolid. Your guide times departure to arrive at the cenotes before peak-hour crowds, following that timing recommendation makes a noticeable difference. Return to Mérida is between 4 PM and 5 PM.

A traditional Yucatecan lunch is included.
