Chichen Itza is Mexico’s most visited archaeological site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. It was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988 and draws over two million visitors every year. The Kukulkan Pyramid, known as El Castillo, features 365 steps aligned with the solar calendar. During the spring and fall equinoxes, a serpent shadow descends its north staircase, a phenomenon the Maya engineered centuries ago. The Great Ball Court stretches 168 meters, the largest in Mesoamerica. The Temple of the Warriors and the ancient Observatory reveal how advanced Mayan astronomy and engineering truly were. Visiting Chichen Itza is not just sightseeing. It is standing inside one of the most significant archaeological treasures in the Americas.
